Why do we always find fault on the person who is being violated against? With the rate of rape and murder cases in South Africa (and perhaps around the world), I find it shocking that the spotlight of the case is moved more towards the victim.
No I am not a feminist. I love the idea of equal rights between both genders. But as a person who believes in a Love that is Abundant, all my writings are to benefit all who read it, not just women. HOWEVER, I find it ridiculous that society blames and finds fault in the person who is the victim.
Now, here’s a twist in the article. It is the SAME with the way we treat animals.
People kill animals for food, is it the chickens, pigs and sheep’s fault humans find its flesh to be tasty?
Is it the cows and calves fault that humans feel the need to consume milk from animals? According to humans, yes it is! Not in so many words, people don’t see how their actions negatively affect others. They don’t see how their desire to eat animals actually means that a live is lost.
The same with the mind set of the people who rape and kill others. I don’t understand the mindset of anyone who can inflict pain on anyone. But the situations are parallel between the way humans and animals are being treated.
The difference is that when it happens to a human, we get shocked and campaign against it.
Yet why are we okay with the fact that cows are FORCEFULLY IMPREGNANTED. THEY ARE BEING RAPED! Why are we okay when cows (and other animals) are slaughtered??? THAT IS MURDER!
Violence against anyone, (unless it is in self-defence) is a horrible thing! How can anyone be okay with inflicting pain on anyone?
Ladies, if anyone is violent against you, it isn’t your fault. If someone raped you, or attempted to, if you were sexually assaulted or harassed, if you were wearing a short dress or walked alone late at night and were assaulted or raped, it is NOT YOUR FAULT. And the same goes for men! If you were the victim of domestic violence, sexual assault or rape, it was also NOT your fault. Your life is not any less important because you are a man. But your life is also, not any more important because you are a man. And like wise, our lives aren’t more important than the life of any other being. We have no right to kill animals or support anyone who does.
From my perspective, beings of all species are faced with oppression and violence. Humans do it to animals, and they also do it to themselves. Pain is the same, suffering is the same.
The fault is in the one who is inflicting this pain, murder, rape and aggression. The fault is also in anyone who supports it.
